Relationships Australia NSW keeps personal contact details separately in secure storage for reference throughout service provision. We check accuracy of information at first contact, and up-date this data as service progresses to completion. Relationships Australia NSW ensures that all personal information collected is securely stored and safe from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We have in place comprehensive policies and procedures for information to be kept confidential and we adhere to National Privacy Principles. Staff are trained and conversant with the codes of conduct about privacy.
On the Relationship Help Online website (provided by Relationships Australian NSW), the information you enter on your registration form is kept in a secure database and accessed by your counsellor prior to and during your online session. The information will help your counsellor prepare for your session, and save time during your session. No attempt will be made to identify anonymous users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the Internet Service Provider's logs.
Relationships Australia NSW will only record your email address in the event that you send a message via a webpage request or email or if you register on our website. Your address is used to send you notification of your password and give you access to the website. An alternative contact is useful for us in case your email address does not work But we will only contact you by email or alternative contact with your permission.

When you Require Access to Information
We ask that you put in writing your request to view information given to us, with a reason for this request. As many of our services are funded under the Family Law Act, there are legislative restrictions on copying any information collected or provision of reports.
In addition you cannot view information about another individual/partner without their specific permission. Access to information may also be denied if we assess that there is an immediate threat to the health, life or safety of a person/child. A reason will be given for denial of access.
